Meet Our Board Members

Yu-Jay Harris - President

Yu-Jay Harris is Vice President, Client Growth and Relationship Management, at Socratic Technologies, a customer and market research consultancy. He holds an MBA in Customer and Product Marketing Management from Kenan-Flagler Business at UNC Chapel Hill and a BA in Psychology from Davidson College.

“I joined the board of Psychology For All because as a young teenager I survived a civil war in my home country, Liberia, West Africa, and saw the impact of that experience on mental and emotional health. Over three decades later, I have observed that the most lasting and harsh impact of the war on survivors remains mental health challenges. My experience left me with the conviction that mental and emotional wellness are critical to a well-lived life. I am grateful for the opportunity PFA gives me to help address the needs of under-resourced people in our community."

Sharon Sullivan - Vice President/Secretary

Sharon Sullivan is a pediatrician who has worked in Charlotte since 1999. She attended Bucknell University for undergraduate education, Hahnemann University for medical school and Carolinas Medical Center for her pediatric residency.

"I became involved in PFA because of the mental health crisis I see in my patients and their families. On a daily basis, I treat adolescents with anxiety and depression and the numbers are increasing exponentially.  I have personally seen the benefit counseling provides my patients. Unfortunately, there are many families in Charlotte that cannot afford counseling. With PFA’s help I am hoping to change that."

Rachel Cook - Board Treasurer

Picture
Rachel is a Risk Management Analyst at Bank of America, with a background in non-profit finance, and has lived in Charlotte since 2018. She attended the University of Florida, with a B.S. in Finance, a minor in International Development & Humanitarian Assistance, and received a M.S. in International Business.

"Psychology for All is an incredible organization that highlights the power of mental healthcare. I myself have been affected and have seen the impact it has on loved ones, and PFA is increasing the accessibility to those who may have never had access to this critical healthcare. I have first-hand experience of the life-changing transformation that mental health services can provide and I am so grateful to be part of a cause that gives people their personal freedom back. Everyone deserves access to healthcare and that includes mental healthcare as well. We keep pushing to remove the stigma and I am proud to be working with the Charlotte community in such a transforming opportunity."

Ashley Skinner - Board Member

Ashley is a Process & Organizational Improvement Manager at Bank of America, with a background in people & organizational change management consulting, and has lived in the Charlotte area since 2016. She attended the University of South Carolina, with a B.S. in Finance, Management and Marketing.

"I was drawn to Psychology for All because I have a deep passion and respect for the power of mental healthcare, as it has affected me and those around me in various ways, and I believe PFA's mission is critical for our community. I am honored to support a cause that gives people a potentially more fulfilling or improved quality of life, especially for those who would not be able to access these services otherwise. All humans deserve a chance to be happy and healthy - both physically and mentally, and I am proud to be part of something that serves the community in such a unique and important way."

"I'm serving on the PFA Board because eliminating barriers to mental health services is important to me. Everyone should have the opportunity to seek services when they need it from someone who can support."

Carrie Reinhardt - Executive Assistant

Picture
Carrie has lived in Charlotte since 2004 and has her BA in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University and MA in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has worked in health care and higher education administration, as well as college campus ministry. She currently works as the Ministry Administrator for Pastoral Staff at Storyhill Church in addition to working with Psychology For All.

"Mental health challenges have impacted my family for generations and I have personally experienced the relief that access to therapeutic care can offer. I'm so glad to be in a role where I can facilitate the connection for others who have lacked that kind of support to these important services."
