Volunteer Sign-Up

The best way to learn about the work of Psychology for All (PFA) is to volunteer with our organization. We offer several committees for you to get involved in as a volunteer and make an impact. Committees will meet monthly and work on projects for PFA between meetings. Read our committee descriptions below and click the "Volunteer Interest Form" button to express your interest.

Clinical Services Committee (Co-Chairs - Dr. Apryl Alexander & Hannah Hollett)
A clinical services committee member serves as a connection between clinicians serving clients and provides support for our clinical services. Committee members must be licensed or provisionally licensed clinicians. Members should express excellent communication skills and teamwork, as they will collaborate with additional PFA staff, board members, and volunteers. 

Examples of Clinical Services Committee Tasks:
  • Approving and matching client applicants with clinicians
  • Approving clinician applications and checking licensure
  • Availability for questions from the PFA Executive Administrator about clients and clinicians
  • ​Strategic planning for better serving our clients and clinicians

Community Engagement Committee (Co-Chairs - Carrie Reinhardt & Brian Martin)
A community engagement committee member will form and facilitate communication, collaboration, and positive relationships between Psychology For All and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community. The committee’s qualifications include open-minded members who prioritize diversity and representation within the community we serve in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, etc. Members should express empathy and passion for the welfare and development of mental health within the community. 

Examples of Community Engagement Committee Tasks:
  • Assessment of needs, concerns, and aspirations of the community
  • Serving as a communication bridge between Psychology For All and our partners
  • Create long-term planning of outreach, fundraising, awareness-building events, and community engagement. 
  • Collaboration with the community, including local businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and other stakeholders, to maximize support and resources

Fundraising Committee (Chair - Jaime Kannan Lam)
The fundraising committee members will plan and oversee events that secure financial resources and promote mental health and Psychology For All awareness to the community. The committee will be critical in ensuring PFA's financial sustainability and growth. Qualifications best suited for committee members include event planning and promotions experience, fundraising strategy development, and donor relations. Communication, creativity, networking, and collaboration skills will be highly valued since individuals will focus on building relationships and working collaboratively with other organizations and PFA committees.

Examples of Events Committee Tasks:
  • Developing an annual fundraising calendar and planning events to engage in fundraising and promotion/awareness-raising
  • Plan and execute fundraising events or campaigns that engage the community and raise funds
  • Assess the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives and adjust strategies based on results
  • Ensure that donor contributions are acknowledged and appreciated through creative methods and communication

Marketing Committee (Chair - Constance Brossa)
Marketing Committee members are responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote Psychology For All’s services and initiatives. This committee will raise awareness, attract clients, clinicians, volunteers/interns, and donors, and enhance PFA’s brand presence. Marketing expertise is valued, including understanding marketing principles, branding, advertising, digital marketing, and social media. Members should also demonstrate collaboration, communication, analytical skills, and creativity to generate unique and attention-grabbing marketing campaigns. Lastly, familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and online advertising is recommended.

Examples of Marketing Committee Tasks:
  • Developing comprehensive marketing strategies aligning with PFA’s goals, target audience, and resources
  • Strengthening PFA’s branding
  • Produce engaging and relevant content, such as blog posts, videos, infographics, and social media posts 
  • Identify and expand opportunities for collaborations with existing partners and organizations
