Meet Our Board Members

Yu-Jay Harris - President

Picture
Yu-jay Harris is strategic marketer with extensive product and brand marketing management experience working in fintech, consumer packaged goods, and financial services. Over his career, he has worked at different corporations including The Coca Company, Chubb, Kraft Foods, Bank of America, and nCino. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, great conversations — especially about faith, mental and emotional health, and happiness — the arts, and sports. He holds an MBA in Customer and Product Marketing Management from Kenan-Flagler Business at UNC Chapel Hill and a BA in Psychology from Davidson College.

“I joined the board of Psychology For All because as a young teenager I survived a civil war in my home country, Liberia, West Africa, and saw the impact of that experience on mental and emotional health. Over three decades later, I have observed that the most lasting and harsh impact of the war on survivors remains mental health challenges. My experience left me with the conviction that mental and emotional wellness are critical to a well-lived life. I am grateful for the opportunity PFA gives me to help address the needs of under-resourced people in our community."

Frances Amos - Vice President

Picture
Frances received a Business Management degree magna cum laude from the University of North Florida and a law degree with honors from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.  She retired from a successful and fulfilling career in the financial services industry early in 2024 with over 25 years of experience in legal, regulatory, compliance, and risk management oversight for global financial institutions.  She is now a certified civil actions mediator for the NC Superior Court and a FINRA Arbitrator.

"My mission in serving on the PFA Board is to improve the mental health and well-being of underserved communities, helping to ensure that individuals in need have access to essential counseling services that can significantly improve their quality of life.  As a Board member, I will advocate for the importance of accessible counseling services, raise awareness and seek to reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues, and promote a greater understanding and support within the community.”

Rachel Cook - Board Treasurer & Chair of Finance Committee

Picture
Rachel is a Risk Management Analyst at Bank of America, with a background in non-profit finance, and has lived in Charlotte since 2018. She attended the University of Florida, with a B.S. in Finance, a minor in International Development & Humanitarian Assistance, and received a M.S. in International Business.

"Psychology for All is an incredible organization that highlights the power of mental healthcare. I myself have been affected and have seen the impact it has on loved ones, and PFA is increasing the accessibility to those who may have never had access to this critical healthcare. I have first-hand experience of the life-changing transformation that mental health services can provide and I am so grateful to be part of a cause that gives people their personal freedom back. Everyone deserves access to healthcare and that includes mental healthcare as well. We keep pushing to remove the stigma and I am proud to be working with the Charlotte community in such a transforming opportunity."

Constance Brossa is the owner and founder of Content Spectrum LLC, a content strategist at American City Business Journals, and a former print journalist. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

“I joined the board of Psychology for All because of my recent position as an independent editor of a quarterly magazine focusing on mental health clinicians of color. My experience with the publication and its founder fueled my interest in helping to eliminate barriers to mental health services.”

"I'm serving on the PFA Board because eliminating barriers to mental health services is important to me. Everyone should have the opportunity to seek services when they need it from someone who can support."

"I am serving on the PFA board because of the need in Charlotte for affordable mental health care. As a social worker, I have served in many roles helping those in need. After the pandemic, I have witnessed the growing need for proficient mental health care. I am proud to be on the board and helping those in need."

Mordecai Scott - Board Member

Picture
Mordecai Scott is the Chief Business Development Officer at Loftin & Company
Printers. He is a Charlotte native who returned in 2022 after 13 years in
Washington, D.C., as a commercial real estate and non-profit professional.  He
attended Davidson College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

"I joined the PFA board because the pandemic left many of the next generation of young people unprepared for the burgeoning mental and social demands of the workplace. I hope that PFA can leverage its resources to scale mental fitness to those entering the workforce at a young age; enabling them to succeed."

Jaime Kannan Lam - Board Member & Chair of Fundraising Committee

Picture

Jaime has lived in Charlotte since 2019. A graduate of the American University, Jaime double majored in Communications and Sociology.

“I wanted to serve on the PFA board because of the need for affordable, accessible mental health care in our community. Having worked with organizations in the social service space, it’s clear that so many cannot access high-quality mental health care without a strong advocate like PFA.”

Carrie Reinhardt - Executive Administrator & Chair of Community Engagement Committee

Picture
Carrie has lived in the Charlotte area since 2004, with a 5-year adventure in Scotland from 2009-2014, while her husband studied at the University of St Andrews. She has also received her Non-Profit Management Certificate from Duke University. Her work at PFA connects to her passion for administratively serving in a capacity that leads to deeper relationships and holistic health.

"Mental health challenges have impacted my family for generations, and I have personally experienced the relief that access to therapeutic care can offer. I'm so glad to be in a role where I can facilitate the connection for others who have lacked that kind of support to these important services."

Marissa Lassell - Lead Intern

Picture
Marissa Lassell completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Davidson College in May 2023 while competing for Davidson as a Division 1 swimmer. With a strong background in mental health advocacy and community engagement, Marissa is spending her post-baccalaureate year gaining practical experience as a foundation for graduate-level training through Shapiro BrainHealth Group, experience working at a private psychological testing organization, Insight Carolinas, and at our nonprofit, Psychology For All. Marissa aspires to specialize in counseling and sport psychology, leveraging her personal, academic, and professional experiences to support diverse populations in achieving mental resilience and peak athletic performance while emphasizing awareness of mental health care and it’s accessibility for all.

"Mental health care is something that many people take for granted or don't realize the benefits it can produce. Having multiple family members that suffer from mental health issues I see the necessity for both care and affordability to the care. I hope to help PFA in reaching more community members and give them more opportunities to improve their lives."
